Each supplier’s stock file is read before you open. A size they have none of stops selling, a size due back in three weeks says so on the product page, and new lines from their catalogue arrive as hidden drafts, with descriptions written in your voice, for you to approve.

Every morning

Read before you open: Each supplier’s stock file is read at a time you choose, early enough to be finished before your first customer of the day.
Stock that is not on your shelf: A line you do not hold yourself sells only while the supplier has it. When they run out, it stops selling on your website without anyone having to remember.
Dates, not just “out of stock”: When the supplier gives a date it is coming back, the product page says so for that size or colour.

When a file goes wrong

A missing file changes nothing: If a supplier’s file is not there or will not read, yesterday’s figures stand and you are told. Nothing is set to zero because a download failed.
Every change written down: What the supplier had, what they have now, and what that did to your website, for every line, every morning.

Hidden drafts: New lines from a supplier’s catalogue come into BigCommerce hidden, with their options, cost and a suggested price.
Descriptions in your voice: Written from the supplier’s details in the way your shop writes, for a person to read and approve. Nothing goes live on its own.
Not for us: A line you turn down stays turned down, and does not come back the next morning.

It only changes lines you have linked to a supplier. Everything else on your website is left alone.

Built and tested on made-up suppliers and catalogues. No real supplier’s file is used to test it.
